TCL gives away the NXTPAPER tablet to anyone who buys one of its new SQD-Mini LED TVs
TCL has just launched its new range of SQD-Mini LED TVs in Italy, the C7L, C8L, and X11L series, and to introduce the models, it has chosen a advantageous promotional formula for the premium television market: those who purchase one of these TVs from major Italian consumer electronics retailers will receive a TCL NXTPAPER tablet with a discount that, in most cases, covers the full retail price.
The offer is active until June 4, 2026 and involves MediaWorld, Unieuro, Euronics, Expert, and Trony, with terms and combinations varying from store to store.
The starred TVs: what sets C7L, C8L, and X11L apart
All three series share the common denominator of SQD-Mini LED technology with 100% BT.2020 color space coverage, Bang & Olufsen audio, and the Google TV operating system. However, the differences are substantial and relate to brightness peaks and local dimming zones.
The C7L series is the entry point to the SQD range: HVA 2.0 Pro panel, peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits HDR, and a number of local dimming zones varying from 800 zones in the 55-inch model to 2,176 in the 98-inch model. It supports a native refresh rate of 144 Hz with Game Accelerator at 288 Hz in Full HD with VRR, HDMI 2.1, FreeSync Premium Pro, and Dolby Vision for gaming, all composing a specification that goes well beyond what one would expect from the entry level.
C8L steps up with the WHVA 2.0 Ultra panel, peak HDR brightness of up to 6,000 nits, and 4,032 zones of Precise Dimming. The processor is the TSR AiPQ with built-in TCL AI functions for real-time image optimization. Compared to the C7L series, the WHVA panel eliminates the visible black border around the active area, resulting in a significantly cleaner visual impact.
At the top is the X11L series (offered in the promotion only by Unieuro): up to 10,000 nits, 20,736 local dimming zones, ZeroBorder panel with anti-reflective treatment, and thickness of only 2.1 cm. It also implements the All-Domain Halo Control System, which actively filters the blooming typical of light text on dark backgrounds, one of the historically most annoying problems in high-end Mini LED panels.
NXTPAPER 11 Plus and NXTPAPER 14: the tablet that doesn’t strain the eyes
The tablet bundled with most of the TVs is the TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus, presented at CES 2025. The standout feature is the 11.5-inch IPS LCD screen with NXTPAPER 4.0 technology: 2.2K resolution (1440×2200 pixels, 3:2 aspect ratio, 229 ppi), 120 Hz refresh rate, and anti-reflective matte coating that mimics the texture of paper. The result is a surface more similar to a sheet than to glass, with a significant reduction in visual fatigue during prolonged reading sessions and a feel particularly appreciated by those using a stylus. The processor is the MediaTek Helio G100 (6 nm), the battery is 8,000 mAh with 33W PD fast charging, and the operating system is Android 15.
For the larger TV sizes (typically 75" and 98"), the tablet TCL NXTPAPER 14 is provided: 14-inch screen with 2.4K resolution and base Android 14. The larger dimensions make it more suitable for productive use and reading documents, although the 60 Hz refresh rate is a step back from the 11 Plus.
