A bit MacBook Pro, but with the RTX 5070 and Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX: Alienware at €1,899 is a monster for everything

Let's put it this way: laptops can be roughly divided into budget all-rounders, lightweight yet powerful models, creator and gaming laptops, at various levels.

The Alienware on offer today is not an ultralight, of course, but for the rest, it is one of those laptops that can literally do everything, and do it very well.

Creator? It has a beautiful screen, a super CPU, and plenty of RAM, all at the price of a "base" MacBook Pro. Compared to the latter, there is a whole gaming universe that opens up, inaccessible to Macs. On offer for €1,899 instead of about €2,500.

Let's take a closer look.

It's hard to know where to start describing it, but let's first look at the screen: it's a 16" with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, 240Hz, which satisfies both creators for the main screen and gamers (perfect resolution for the included RTX, which we will see later).

The CPU is one of the best around, expensive and incredibly powerful: we're talking about an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX with 24 cores, 24 threads, 36M Cache, peaking at 5.4GHz.

As if that weren't enough, it also features a whopping 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD, which is, of course, super fast.

Gaming is truly excellent with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, supported by 8GB of dedicated GDDR7. The aesthetics are not the flashy style of some gaming models: while there are all possible settings for RGB colors, it can, if desired, pass for a regular laptop, with a very efficient cooling system and elegant design. In terms of ports, it has everything and more:

  • 2 "normal" USB Type-A 3.2 Gen. 2,
  • 2 USB Type-C, one of which is Thunderbolt 4.0 compatible,
  • RJ-45 Ethernet,
  • HDMI 2.1 output,
  • minijack socket for microphone and headphones.

In short, a real monster. Those who can afford it should seriously consider: what do you find that powerful and complete at this price?
