Vision Pro is a flop: Apple is ready to accept the project's failure

Apple Vision Pro does not interest users, despite the arrival of the M5 chip, and Apple seems ready to accept the project's failure and look ahead, aiming to assess what to do regarding its presence in the augmented and virtual reality headset sector. The numbers are clear: sales have been modest, returns numerous, and the actual use of the headset may be limited.

Is Vision Pro a flop?

A new report clarifies the issue, highlighting what could be Apple's next moves following the failure of the new version of Vision Pro. The headset contends with a very high price, even by American market standards, and with excessive weight, making it difficult to use.

Apple is reported to have sold around 600,000 units since the launch of the first version, but the return rate is said to be very high, exceeding that of any other recent Apple product. Furthermore, the company has allegedly already reduced (or completely dismantled) the product development team. The Vision Pro project seems to have been completely shelved.

New Visions on the way?

It is worth noting that, according to various rumors, Apple is working on launching new, more affordable, and lighter headsets, aiming to leverage the development work done so far. Among the upcoming innovations could be a Vision Air, for example. Additionally, the company is interested in the smart glasses sector, aiming to extend its market presence without repeating the mistakes of the Vision Pro.
