The new Intel Wildcat Lake processors impress in early benchmarks

Intel recently unveiled the new Core Series 3 Wildcat Lake, processors with hybrid architecture and AI designed for notebooks and entry-level systems. The data provided by the company is very interesting and anticipates excellent performance, including on the GPU side, and a lot of efficiency for this new range of processors.

The first information that appeared online regarding the capabilities of these chips confirms Intel's expectations. The Wildcat Lake processors could deliver surprising performance.

An initial test for Wildcat Lake

The Core 5 320 processor, one of the components of the new Wildcat Lake range, was the subject of an independent benchmark on PassMark, achieving very good results. This chip, equipped with 6 cores (of which only two are P-cores), reached 15,222 points.

Intel's processor is 27% faster in multi-core compared to the A18 Pro of the MacBook Neo, while in the single-core test there is a substantial tie. In single-core tests, Wildcat Lake also surpasses the Core Ultra 5 236V "Lunar Lake" and the Ryzen AI 5 340 "Strix Point". However, things change in multi-core due to the only 6 cores of the new Intel chip.

As for graphics, the Wildcat Lake CPU has only 2 Xe3 cores, but even with a quarter of the cores compared to current Arc offerings, such as Lunar Lake with 8 Xe2. Despite this aspect, performance is approximately half.

It should be noted that the Core 5 320 processor represents one of the most basic solutions in the range, which will also include more powerful models capable of achieving superior performance.
