Gigabyte Solves the NVIDIA Connector Issue: Power Supplies with Temperature Sensors for 12VHPWR
Gigabyte has introduced its new lineup of high-performance power supplies from the Gaming series, targeting the high-end market and designed with next-generation GPUs in mind. Focus is placed on safety, energy efficiency, and quiet operation, with design aimed at reducing risks related to the well-known 12V-2x6 connector.
The new units incorporate proprietary T-Guard technology, an active thermal monitoring system that directly interacts with the GPU's power connector. Integrated sensors analyze the temperature of the 12V-2x6 cable in real time. In the presence of abnormal values, the system sends an immediate alert and activates intelligent energy management, selectively reducing power to the graphics card.
Another significant aspect concerns the management of critical situations. If protection is triggered, the user can continue to utilize the CPU's integrated graphics to save data and safely shut down the system, preventing sudden power interruptions that may damage other components of the setup.
From a certification standpoint, the GAMING series achieves high standards. The power supplies have Cybenetics ETA Platinum and 80 PLUS Gold certifications, ensuring efficient energy conversion and effective heat dissipation.
On the acoustic front, the Cybenetics LAMBDA A+ certification confirms an average noise level of under 20 dB(A). The cooling system employs a 135 mm fan with FDB hydrodynamic bearing and HybridCool technology, which stops rotation at low load for completely silent operation.
GIGABYTE has also improved the visual aspect with a two-color 12V-2x6 cable, designed to simplify correct insertion and provide immediate feedback during installation, thus preventing potential errors at the assembly stage.
The new range complies with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards and will be available in three power ratings: 750W, 850W, and 1000W. There are two color variants to match the power supply to one's build: Black and Ice (white and black), while the internal components feature 100% Japanese capacitors.
Completing the offering is a 10-year warranty, demonstrating Gigabyte's confidence in its products and obviously placing the PSUs in the premium segment. However, for now, Gigabyte has yet to announce prices and availability in Italy for the new power supplies.
