DeepL Raises the Bar: With Voice-to-Voice Comes a Complete Suite for Real-Time Translation
DeepL is one of the leading companies in the field of artificial intelligence applied to linguistics. This week, enriching the range of services offered by the company is Voice-to-Voice.
This is a system that allows real-time voice translation. This suite of solutions is designed to facilitate live vocal communication and, therefore, to conduct virtual meetings and in-person conversations. For example, a work team composed of individuals who speak different languages can communicate, breaking down language barriers.
DeepL's Voice-to-Voice translation suite includes a variety of features for real-time translation. Among them are Voice for Meetings, for real-time translations on platforms like Teams and Zoom, Voice for Conversations, intended for use in contexts where app installation isn't possible, and Group Conversations, for multilingual interactions in training, coaching, and workshop settings with immediate access via QR Code. Also noteworthy are the Voice-to-Voice APIs, which will allow companies to integrate DeepL's voice translation into their applications.
There is also the Speech Personalization feature, which aims to optimize service quality by improving the final result with the use of specific terminology, industry terms, product and company names, proper names, and much more. Some functions are already available to the public (like Conversations) and others are available in early access (like the APIs) or will be available soon. For complete details, you can visit the official DeepL website.
Jarek Kutylowski, founder and CEO of DeepL, commented:
"Today we reach a new frontier in translation: real-time spoken communication. Our mission has always been to break down language barriers, and now we have surpassed one of the most significant ones. DeepL Voice-to-Voice allows anyone to express themselves in their own language naturally, without the friction or costs of interpreters. We are combining high-level voice models with our AI translation technology, bringing it to new standards. Today, only competence matters, not language."
It’s worth noting that DeepL has announced an evolution of DeepL Translator. The translator will rely on an end-to-end infrastructure for advanced translation, aiming to overcome the inefficiencies of traditional models. Kutylowski added, "We are bringing translation into the AI era. By centralizing linguistic operations on a multilingual AI-first platform, every team can access rapid, high-quality translations without relying on legacy tools or costly external services."
