The MacBook Neo is a Success: Apple Will Significantly Increase Production

The MacBook Neo has had a very positive launch, prompting Apple to revise its production plans. The entry-level model of the MacBook line will be produced in a greater number of units than initially intended. Thanks to positive reviews, the MacBook Neo, which starts at €699, is now a benchmark in Apple's range and is likely destined to become the best-selling MacBook overall, even surpassing the Air models.

10 Million Neo

Apple initially planned to produce 5-8 million units of the MacBook Neo covering the entire lifecycle of the notebook and adjusting its production to meet market demand. This demand has exceeded expectations, with the Cupertino company, according to a new leak, reportedly increasing its target to 10 million total units. This accounts for about 40% of the Macs sold by Apple during 2025. The increased production will meet market demands until early 2027, when the second generation of the MacBook Neo is expected to arrive with A19 Pro chips and 12 GB of RAM, which should ensure substantial improvements in performance, eliminating the flaws of the first model.

Apple's new notebook is, therefore, a success. In the coming months, we will understand whether Neo's results are harming the Air line, which previously represented the entry-level offering of the MacBook line, or if the notebook has succeeded in its goal of "capturing" Windows and Chromebook users.
