Mark Zuckerberg Like God: Working on an AI in His Image and Likeness That Could Replace Him
Meta intends to make a significant and perhaps unique step forward in the AI sector – at least for the moment. According to reports from Ars Technica, the company is working on a photorealistic AI avatar of Mark Zuckerberg, designed to interact in real-time with internal teams, provide feedback, and simulate coherent conversations reflective of the CEO's thoughts.
According to the information that has emerged, the system uses advanced AI models trained on Zuckerberg's images, voice, tone, and public language, also integrating his most recent strategic positions. The goal is to offer employees a credible and consistent interface with the founder's figure that guarantees a greater connection with the company's top management. Zuckerberg himself is reportedly actively involved in the development.
The project is part of a multibillion-dollar investment in which Meta aims to regain ground against its major competitors in the AI sector. At the same time, the company has developed photorealistic three-dimensional characters capable of holding fluid conversations without perceivable delays. However, scalability remains complex: significant computational resources are needed to ensure visual realism and responsiveness.
The Meta founder is said to be spending between 5 and 10 hours a week on programming and taking part in technical reviews. This direct involvement should also reflect in the quality of training for his avatar, which will apparently include mannerisms, vocal inflections, and communication style.
In parallel, Meta is also working on an assistant for the CEO, a project completely separate from his virtual clone. According to the emerging information, it is a personal AI agent designed to support Zuckerberg in the operational management of the company, for example by quickly retrieving requested information.
Recently, Meta has also strengthened its voice sector through the acquisition of specialized companies like PlayAI and WaveForms. This investment aims to make voice interactions quite natural, a critical point for making AI-based agents credible.
Currently, the company's ecosystem already includes tools like Meta AI Assistant and platforms for creating custom chatbots. Furthermore, with AI Studio, users can generate digital versions of themselves. If the "Zuckerberg project" proves to be successful, the company could essentially offer a form of "digital cloning" service to influencers, content creators, and other professionals.
On one hand, it would be an interesting initiative to allow the community to interact with their favorite personalities or characters in real-time and quite credibly. However, as usual, the idea has raised numerous security questions, especially for younger users.
