Few updates for iPhone 18 and Air 2: here are the latest on Apple's upcoming smartphones

Apple has several news items coming for its smartphone range: on the horizon there are not only the iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max and iPhone Fold, but there will also be room for the iPhone 18 and the iPhone Air 2. These two smartphones are at the center of a new leak that anticipates their features and updates.

The latest on iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2

Let's start with the iPhone 18. The smartphone may simply be a refresh of the iPhone 17, with few design updates and a specification upgrade, featuring a new SoC. According to the latest information, there will not be the new Dynamic Island (smaller), which should remain an exclusive for the Pro models, at least for the next generation of smartphones. It is worth noting that the iPhone 18 is expected to debut in early 2027.

As for the iPhone Air 2, the rumors mainly concern the launch period. The second generation of the ultra-thin smartphone (which had poor sales, especially compared to other models in the range) is expected to debut in 2026. Again, there should be only a refresh with a chip update and few new features.

There will be no room, at least according to the rumors, for a second rear camera.

More details on the new smartphones will arrive in the coming weeks. The next appointment with Apple's smartphone range is set for September when the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will debut. It remains to be seen what choices Apple will make for the Fold, expected at the end of the year, and for the second generation of Air.
