Italian Aerospace Company Argotec Announces Opening of US Headquarters in Florida

Argotec

makes a strategic leap in its international growth by inaugurating its new production site in Melbourne, Florida, in the United States. A total of $25 million has been invested, with the Turin-based company, known for producing small satellites and advanced space systems, thus consolidating its presence across the ocean while simultaneously strengthening its ties with Turin.

The choice of Florida is not random. The Space Coast remains one of the most dynamic centers of the US space industry. From that area, 109 space launches were made in 2025, and several companies are either developing or have developed space projects worth a total of $6 billion. Argotec's new production site is located just 65 km from the Kennedy Space Center (from where the Artemis II mission launched), a position that ensures direct access to major US contractors and programs dedicated to smallsats and dual-use initiatives for the Department of War (DoW, previously DoD).

Argotec stated that the production site had already been operational for some time, but it was recently made official. Access to the US market is crucial for securing funding that is not yet at the same level in Italy or Europe, and this should allow the Turin company to carve out its space across the ocean. According to industry data, the smallsat segment, where Argotec operates, is expected to exceed $32 billion in global value by 2030.

David Avino (CEO and founder of the company) stated, "This is a crucial piece in Argotec's growth and our expansion journey. We have worked with American colleagues to bring our DNA to the United States, where the market demands even greater speed and prospective technology for the largest space groups in the world. We are proud to bring Italian excellence to the world and to strengthen Italy's role in the American space sector."

The Melbourne facility is designed to replicate the industrial model of the SpacePark in Turin. We find scalable production, product modularity, vertical integration, and extremely fast delivery times to customers. There are also offices, a warehouse, and production areas with two modular ISO7 Clean Rooms. Currently, production capacities allow for the manufacture of up to ten HEO satellites and one Hawk PLUS per month. The workforce at the US site currently counts 20 employees but is expected to grow to 60 employees within the next two years, also leveraging the presence of universities in the area.
