OVHcloud Places Italy at the Center of Its International Expansion
Italy plays an increasingly important role in the world of infrastructures and digital services, as evidenced by the nearly exponential growth of new data centers under construction or planned.
OVHcloud is among the entities investing in this direction and has outlined its plans at its OVHcloud Summit 2026, which was held for the first time at two locations in Milan and Rome.
OVHcloud Looks to Italy for Its Expansion
OVHcloud gathered its ecosystem of partners and clients at two events where it discussed its strategy in our country and beyond: the company continues to invest in sovereign digital infrastructures for cloud services (both public and private) and artificial intelligence.
In particular, OVHcloud emphasized its investments in our country, both in Milan and Rome: in the Lombard capital due to its role as the economic and technological engine of Italy, and in the capital for its proximity to the Public Administration and the aerospace sector. OVHcloud highlighted that Milan is the first city outside France to see the arrival of a Region 3-AZ, consisting of three data centers located less than 30 km apart and designed to ensure the availability of services, even in the face of exceptional events such as natural disasters, connectivity disruptions, or fires.
The event, which was sponsored by Assintel, featured contributions from partners AMD, Almaviva Group, Nutanix, Higeco, Mia-Fintech, and Mia-Care.
"Italy continues to be at the center of our international strategy. With the new Datacenter and Region 3-AZ, OVHcloud reinforces its commitment to a sovereign, resilient, and sustainable digital growth aiming to establish itself as a global reference point in cloud and AI, capable of supporting the entire economic system. We look to the future with the awareness that innovation arises from collaboration between ecosystems, institutions, and enterprises, and we are proud to support the potential of the country by offering cloud solutions that enable digital transformation in Italy. The ambition is to build an ecosystem where technology serves people and ideas, positioning Italy as a protagonist on the global stage," declared John Gazal, VP Southern Europe of OVHcloud.
