Roborock F25 Steam: The Power of Steam for Immaculate Floors
In the range of wet & dry products, Roborock offers different models characterized by various technical solutions. The most recent model announced by the company is the F25 Steam, which, as the name suggests, uses steam to ensure better cleaning of home floors. It is a cordless vacuum cleaner that cleans floors with hot water through a front roller and can generate steam at the user's command to intervene more effectively on floor stains.
VaporFlow is the name of the technology implemented by Roborock, capable of generating steam at a temperature of 180 degrees that acts directly on stains present on the floor to remove them. It operates particularly effectively in the presence of sticky dirt and stubborn residues, which are therefore removed more easily by the integrated brush in the vacuum cleaner.
The use of steam eliminates the need for chemical cleaning products. Of course, there is still the additional action provided by the water-spraying roller and the detergent included, which is automatically dispensed by the vacuum cleaner based on the amount of water being used. The suction motor reaches a power of 25,000 Pa, generating a downward cleaning pressure of 33 N. The brush integrates a structure that prevents hair and fur from tangling around it: the JawScrapers design, as indicated by Roborock, thus prevents the formation of tangles, helping to maintain the product clean and fully functional.
As seen in other products in this category, the roller is mounted to clean walls flush, leaving a gap of less than 1 millimeter: in this way, not only traditional surfaces are treated but also less accessible corners. The joint on which the base is mounted also allows the broom to lie flat on the floor, so it can be used under furniture, beds, and sofas provided there is a useful light of 12.5 cm.
At the front, a blue LED lighting system has been installed to help identify dirt on the floor, even in a perfectly lit environment. Once the cleaning operation is completed, the Roborock F25 Steam is placed on the charging base, starting the self-cleaning procedure. Even in this phase, steam up to 180 degrees Celsius is used to deeply clean the roller, while hot water at 95 degrees is employed to clean the internal ducts: all this helps restore impeccable operational capability.
At the end of the washing, the roller is dried in two distinct modes: the first is a quick mode lasting 5 minutes with a higher temperature hot air stream, while the second lasts 30 minutes and uses a quieter process. The only thing we need to check will be the status of the tanks: the clear water tank is positioned above the roller and also contains a small tank dedicated to the cleaning liquid. The dark water tank is mounted in the vertical structure of the robot, integrating the air filter, which can be easily removed for washing if necessary.
When in operation, the Roborock F25 Steam performs well in both dust suction and floor washing, even in ordinary configuration without activating steam production. When activated, it takes several seconds before the steam starts to emerge, but in the meantime, the vacuum cleaner can continue to be used. The action, once the steam is activated, becomes more pronounced, but of course, total consumption also increases, affecting autonomy.
The possibility of using the included detergent helps make cleaning more effective. Depending on use, it can last up to 30 days before needing to be replenished in the dedicated tank. The display mounted on the back shows the operating mode of the F25 Steam and the battery percentage available. The latter is not expressed as a percentage but with a series of "battery-like ticks," a mode that doesn’t allow for precise understanding of the remaining autonomy.
Maneuverability is a strong point of this product: it moves easily along the floor, allowing for easy treatment of the most difficult corners to reach. Once fully laid on the ground, it does not lose suction power, allowing it to work even under furniture that provides a minimum passing light of 12.5 cm.
Roborock claims a maximum operating battery life of 80 minutes, obviously selecting the least power-consumptive mode available. We conducted a continuous usage test with steam production, and the F25 Steam operated for about 20 uninterrupted minutes, which is more than enough to clean the floors of a medium-sized home.
The Roborock F25 Steam is available at an official list price of €589, but it is already available on promotion on the Roborock website and online platforms at a price of €459. At this price, it is a very interesting product, similar in functionality to the Roborock F25 Ultra but sacrificing some accessory features for a much more appealing price.
