Samsung Begins Shipments of the First Tandem OLEDs Certified VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1400

The OLED display segment continues to improve with next-generation panels that are today able to offer astonishing performance. Based on these enhancements, VESA launched the new certification VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1400 a few weeks ago, designed to identify high-end OLED panels with peak brightness over 1,400 nits and other advanced features that deliver top-notch performance.

Among the main proponents of the new generation of OLED panels is Samsung Display, a leading company in the industry that, as confirmed recently, has started the supply of Tandem OLED panels that meet the requirements set by the new VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1400 certification.

A New Generation of Laptops with Tandem OLED Displays on the Way

For now, Lenovo is the first company to have presented a notebook with an OLED panel that falls within the requirements of the new VESA certification. This is the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition, which features a 16-inch display provided by Samsung Display. The Korean company is also beginning supplies to ASUS, Dell, and MSI, which are expected to launch VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1400 models in the coming weeks. It’s also noteworthy that Samsung plans to present the new Tandem OLED panel for laptops at the K-Display 2026 event, scheduled for July 22-24.
