HTC Bets on Smart Glasses: Will the New Vive Eagle AI Arrive in Europe?

HTC has been one of the most important brands in the smartphone market in the past. Its gradual disappearance from the market did not lead to the end of the company's activities, which is now trying to make a comeback internationally with Vive Eagle AI.

This is a new pair of smart glasses that HTC is launching in the United States and that could carve out a space for themselves in Europe in the near future. These glasses are equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip (with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage), a 235 mAh battery (providing a runtime of about 4.5 hours), and a 12 MP camera, capable of taking photos with a resolution of 3024×4032 pixels and recording videos at a resolution of 1512×2016 pixels at 30 fps.

There is also an IP54 certification. A notable software feature is that users have the option to choose whether to use Gemini or ChatGPT as the virtual assistant paired with the smart glasses, which weigh 48.8 grams.

For users, there will be six frame configurations, round or square, with transparent or tinted lenses, and in four different colors, including Glossy Coffee and Apricot.

In the American market, the glasses will be launched at a starting price of $499. Pre-orders were opened for a few hours on Amazon.com with deliveries expected from September 1. The page has been removed, but the opening of pre-orders could be near. We cannot rule out their arrival in Europe, a market where HTC could find the right space to initiate its relaunch program.
