GTA 6, record debut: digital pre-orders already worth 260 million dollars

The first estimates on GTA 6 sales, available for pre-order for a few weeks now, clarify the game's potential to achieve a record launch. This result could materialize thanks to a high number of copies sold (despite the absence of the PC version at launch and a price lower than expectations of some analysts).

Record numbers for GTA 6?

The estimates are based on a report from Newzoo and not on official data provided by Rockstar. In any case, these are very interesting numbers. The game has already generated 260 million dollars in digital pre-orders in its first week of market availability.

Considering all sales channels, by the end of its first week post-launch (by the end of November), GTA is expected to generate between 3.3 and 5.2 billion dollars (including pre-orders). By July, the game should also reach 1 billion in revenue from pre-orders, continuing to approach the estimated numbers for the launch phase. The release of new trailers with the first gameplay sequences could accelerate the growth of pre-orders and increase revenue.

Let’s remember that the title will be available exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. The game’s results will become even more record-breaking with the arrival of the PC version, which will offer significantly higher graphical levels (for those with the right hardware). The PC version is expected to be available in 2027. Remember that GTA 6 will be available starting November 19, 2026.
