ASUS Adds Support for Chinese CXMT Memory in Its Motherboards, Even in Europe
After MSI, it is now ASUS's turn, which has released several Beta versions of some BIOS aimed at several AMD motherboards from the 600 and 800 series that introduce support for memory chips produced by CXMT.
The update comes at a time of rapid growth for CXMT's DDR5 memory, which has made significant advances in operating frequencies in recent months. While these modules were previously limited to around 6,000 MT/s, optimizations introduced by manufacturers have enabled them to reach and exceed 8,000 MT/s.
Among the results shared, ASUS demonstrated the operation of CXMT DDR5 modules at speeds of up to 8,400 MT/s on a B850 motherboard. Other manufacturers, including MSI and Colorful, have also achieved frequencies above 8,000 MT/s, a milestone that highlights the progress made by CXMT in the DDR5 memory sector.
New Beta BIOS versions have been released for numerous X670 and X870 motherboards. As of now, the update is not yet available for models based on the B650 and B850 chipsets.
According to ASUS, the firmware introduces improved compatibility with CXMT memory chips, as well as optimizations dedicated to system stability and memory performance.
A particularly interesting detail in this case is the global distribution of the updates. Although CXMT's DDR5 modules are currently mainly marketed in the mainland China market, the company has already clarified that ASUS motherboards distributed outside that area will also support this memory after the update is installed.
This choice clearly demonstrates the industry's interest in CXMT's offerings and, above all, the intention to expand the user base beyond the Chinese market. After all, the memory shortage has significantly impacted hardware sales, which is why the same manufacturers have a vested interest in spreading the Chinese alternative from CXMT globally and accelerating the much-anticipated recovery in sales.
