Samsung unveils Flex Titanium, a new technology for the next generation of Galaxy Z
Next week marks the debut of the new Galaxy Z devices. In the meantime, Samsung has presented the new Flex Titanium technology that will be used in the next generation of foldable smartphones from the Korean company.
A leap in quality?
This new technology aims to provide a more refined visual experience with greater durability and less visibility of folds. The goal is to ensure a clear enhancement over previous models, after seven generations of continuous improvements.
As clarified by Samsung, the Flex Titanium technology integrates two titanium-based components: a titanium alloy film and a titanium plate, which aim to optimize the panel in terms of thinness, flexibility, and strength. The titanium alloy film, positioned beneath the OLED panel, offers mechanical stiffness 20 times greater. The titanium plate, placed even lower, allows for a firmer adhesion to the display module by eliminating air gaps between the module and the adhesive on the plate.
The underlying idea of the project is clear. Samsung aims to enhance the panel of its Galaxy Z devices by leveraging the experience gained from previous generations. We will have to wait a few more weeks to gain clearer insights on this. The presentation event for the Galaxy Z is scheduled for July 22, while sales are expected to begin in early August.
