CUPRA Raval Plus: the 99 kW model costs less than 30,000 euros

CUPRA has expanded the Raval family with the arrival of the Plus variant, offered at a starting price of around 29,000 euros in European markets (in Italy, currently, we only find the Launch Edition on promotion at 29,950 euros). This is the first intermediate step of the range, designed for those seeking the 100% electric city car from the Spanish brand without opting for the already listed Launch Edition versions.

The heart of the Raval Plus is an electric motor of 99 kW (135 hp), paired with a new LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery of 37 kWh net, capable of guaranteeing up to 300 km of range in the WLTP cycle. Charging reaches 11 kW in alternating current and 88 kW in direct current, with a declared time of about 23 minutes to go from 10 to 80% charge.

CUPRA Raval Plus, a step above the basic model

The Raval Plus is entering a delicate moment in the commercial launch of the model. CUPRA had announced a base version of 116 hp for summer, with a starting price set at 25,950 euros, but the configurator now indicates its arrival in September. Until that time, the Plus thus remains the most accessible entry into the configurable range.

The engine range of the Raval follows the scheme already seen on its twin, the VW ID. Polo, with powers of 85, 99, 155, and 166 kW. The two less powerful variants are paired with the 37 kWh LFP battery, while the 155 and 166 kW versions are equipped with a 52 kWh NMC pack, which extends the range up to 444 km.

Built on the front-wheel-drive MEB+ platform, shared with the VW ID. Polo, ID. Cross, and Skoda Epiq, the Raval measures 4.05 meters in length, with a wheelbase of 2.60 meters, a width of about 1.78 meters, and a height of 1.52 meters. The front adopts the Sharknose design with Matrix LED headlights, while at the rear, a pronounced diffuser and a full-width 3D light signature stand out.

The cabin features sports seats, a 10.25-inch digital dashboard with Android operating system, a 12.9-inch infotainment display, progressive ratio steering, and a trunk of 441 liters. The Raval Plus adds standard 18-inch wheels, single-zone climate control, heated and electric rearview mirrors, heat-insulating glass, front ambient lighting, voice controls, DAB+ radio, and a seven-speaker audio system.

Those wishing to enrich the equipment can choose from three optional packages.

  • EDGE (€1,010) includes 15W wireless device charging, Vehicle-to-Load technology to power external devices, and keyless entry Kessy.
  • DRIVE (€690) brings Travel Assist 3.0, Emergency Assist 3.6, and remote parking via smartphone.
  • LIGHT & SOUND (€950) adds a Sennheiser audio system with 12 speakers and internal light projections.

Also available are a tow hitch and panoramic roof, both priced at €650. The configurator for the new variant will open soon, while the first deliveries are expected in mid-September.
