Sky Nomad is born, the new range of Xiaomi for long-range cars
Xiaomi Auto has officially announced the name of the new line of vehicles that has been talked about for some time. The project will be marketed in China under the brand Sky Nomad (Pengcheng). The announcement came through the new WeChat channel dedicated to the brand, accompanied by advertising campaigns on urban screens in various Chinese cities.
The new series will focus on the EREV segment, which stands for Extended Range Electric Vehicles. This technology combines an electric motor for traction with a thermal generator that does not directly drive the wheels but mainly serves to recharge the battery and power the electric motors when needed.
Currently, Xiaomi Auto offers the SU7 sedan and the YU7 SUV, but Sky Nomad will represent a step towards a more family-oriented offering. The first model expected for this range should be the N90, a large SUV equipped with an EREV system.

According to previous information, the vehicle should use a 1.5-liter turbo engine with generator function. The battery could exceed 70 kWh, allowing an estimated all-electric range of between 400 and 500 kilometers. Considering the support from the extended range system, the overall value could exceed 1,500 kilometers.
The N90 will be an imposing model: its expected length is about 5.3 meters, with a wheelbase of 3.1 meters. Configurations for both five and seven seats are anticipated, making it suitable for family needs. Some images of previously sighted prototypes also showed a larger version equipped with a rooftop structure resembling a tent.
From an aesthetic point of view, the SUV features elements such as square-shaped headlights, a large trapezoidal front air intake, side vents on the bumper, a raised hood, a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, and electric side steps. Xiaomi delivered 32,759 vehicles in China alone in May 2026 and aims to strengthen its presence in the automotive sector with Sky Nomad.
