HBO Max has increased the price of its cheapest plan in Italy
After just under 7 months since its launch in the Italian market, HBO Max introduces its first price increase. The streaming platform has indeed raised the cost of the Basic plan with ads for Italian users.
€1 more for those who choose HBO Max with ads
The Basic plan with ads, similar to what is offered by Netflix and Disney Plus, serves as the entry point to the service and aims to attract users who want to minimize spending (for example, due to occasional use of the service) and are therefore willing to accept some advertising interruptions during viewing.
This HBO Max plan used to cost €5.99 per month, but as a result of the increase, it now costs €6.99 per month, with a €1 increase for those who choose to subscribe to the service today.
There are no changes to the content. For now, there are no modifications to the Standard and Premium plans, which are available for €11.99 per month and €16.99 per month, respectively. The Sports package remains confirmed as an extra option at €3 per month. We cannot rule out that there may be a price increase for other plans in the near future.
Additionally, it should be noted that (at least at the time of writing) no communications have yet been sent to existing customers who had previously chosen the Basic plan with ads. The price increase is expected to occur in the coming months.
