Meta Launches Pocket: The New AI-Based App Allows Users to Create Games and Apps with Simple Prompts
Meta has begun rolling out a new application called Pocket, a platform that leverages artificial intelligence to allow users to create small applications and interactive games from simple text descriptions. The project stems from the work of the Gizmo team, a startup specializing in developing interactive experiences through AI, which Meta acquired in early 2026.
The application presents itself as a creative space dedicated to the creation and sharing of content called "gizmos", or mini applications and games automatically generated through textual prompts. In addition to creation tools, Pocket also integrates a scrolling feed that allows users to explore and utilize creations published by the community.
Images available on the Google Play Store show an interface very similar to that of the previous Gizmo application, still present in digital stores. Both platforms indeed allow users to describe an idea using natural language so that AI can create an interactive experience, also offering a section for discovering content shared by other users.
Additional details on Pocket, the new Meta app
Pocket's presence was initially spotted by Alessandro Paluzzi, a well-known researcher who analyzes applications and features in development. The developer posted a screenshot of the Play Store page, drawing attention from the tech community. According to data collected by Appfigures, Pocket was published on both the App Store and Google Play on June 29, 2026. Being a very recent launch, information on the number of downloads by users is still unavailable.
Business Insider and TechCrunch.com also reported on the app's appearance, while Meta, at the time of publishing this information, had yet to release official statements or comment on the debut of the new platform.
Pocket represents another piece of the strategy with which Meta is expanding the reach of creative tools based on artificial intelligence. In recent months, the company has indeed introduced automatic image generation via Meta AI, video creation with the Vibes app, and new AI features integrated into social networks and the Edits application dedicated to creators. The lack of an official announcement suggests that Pocket is still in a experimental phase.
