Data Sovereignty: Check Point's Cloud Firewall Now Available on AWS European Sovereign Cloud

Check Point has made its Cloud Firewall available on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, the AWS cloud infrastructure designed for European customers who need to manage sensitive data and applications within a sovereign perimeter.

The environment is separated from existing AWS regions, with infrastructure located in the European Union and technical controls designed to meet the needs of governments, regulated companies, and large organizations. The goal is to allow the use of AWS services while maintaining stricter requirements on data residency, operational autonomy, and compliance.

Check Point Brings Cloud Firewall to AWS Sovereign Cloud

This development particularly concerns companies evaluating which workloads to move to sovereign cloud environments and which to maintain in traditional regions. In this scenario, security becomes part of the architectural design: not a component to be added later, but one of the elements to be defined in the migration phase. Customers can begin planning the transition to the AWS European Sovereign Cloud and assess Check Point's Cloud Firewall and WAF offerings available for this environment.

With this move, Check Point brings its security functions for networks, workloads, and applications to this new environment. The Cloud Firewall maintains integration with the AWS ecosystem and adds a layer of protection based on threat prevention and security intelligence.

"The AWS European Sovereign Cloud represents a significant step forward for organizations operating within the EU regulatory framework," says Joaquin Reixa, Vice President for Western Europe at Check Point Software Technologies. "Check Point's Cloud Firewall solution on this independent cloud infrastructure allows our clients to run their most sensitive workloads with operational autonomy and data residency entirely within the EU. Thanks to Check Point's prevention-focused security and AI-based threat intelligence, along with AWS's sovereignty controls and technical guarantees, we provide the compliance support and innovation our clients need to accelerate their digital transformation while meeting stringent regulatory requirements."
