Microsoft Updates Surface Range: Farewell to Go Models

The Surface range has seen several updates in recent months, with Microsoft seemingly intent on reorganizing its offerings, adding new products while removing others. Following the launch of the new Surface Pro and Laptop models, which are also available in a version with Intel chips for businesses, Microsoft has decided to phase out the Go variants, which represented the entry-level options in the Surface product range.

Although there will be no new Go versions, Microsoft has already launched new Pro and Laptop models that can serve as the entry-level variants for the Surface range.

Farewell to Surface Go

The products from the Go line (Surface Go and Laptop Go) are being withdrawn, and once the available stocks are sold out, they will no longer be purchasable (unless one resorts to used or refurbished options, a segment that always offers a wealth of choices for Surface models). According to Windows Central, the news is "surprising", especially concerning the Surface Go, a model that would be highly appreciated in business settings.

However, it's important to note that Microsoft has already updated the lower end of its range. In some markets, like the United States, 8 GB variants of the new Surface Pro and Laptop (featuring Snapdragon X2 chips) are available. These are the base models for customers interested in purchasing these products.

Further details may emerge in the near future: Microsoft is updating its offerings, and we cannot rule out the arrival of new devices in the coming months.
