Apple Begins Selling Refurbished MacBook Neo, but the Price Isn't Very Attractive (For Now)
Apple has started selling the MacBook Neo within its certified refurbished devices program, currently only in the United States. The news is interesting as it comes shortly after the price increase of Macs announced by the company.
Not the Right Time to Buy a Refurbished MacBook Neo
Apple offers the base version of the MacBook Neo with 256 GB at a price of $599, while the higher configuration with 512 GB and Touch ID is available for $679.
These prices are significantly lower than the new list price (which starts at $699) but in line with what is still possible to pay for a MacBook Neo in the US. The paradox arises from the fact that third-party retailers have not yet adjusted to the latest price increase from the parent company.
This situation, which could also occur in Italy (if the MacBook were to enter the list of "official" refurbished devices), is a result of market dynamics and is destined to end when the stocks of the Neo that retailers have on hand run out.
At this moment, it is indeed advisable to take advantage of external distribution channels to buy Macs at the previous stock prices, waiting for third-party retailers like Amazon and electronics chains with physical stores to update their prices according to Apple's new price list.
It’s worth mentioning that the MacBook Neo now costs 100 euros more in terms of list price in the Italian market for both variants (256 GB and 512 GB). For other Macs, there are even more significant increases.
