Alongside Leica SL3-P, the Summilux-SL 50 f/1.4 ASPH. and APO-Macro-Elmarit-SL 1:2.8/100 Lenses Are Launched

In recent days, the German manufacturer has launched its new professional full-frame camera SL3-P, designed for various types of photography, particularly motorsport, nature, and reportage photography, among others. A camera with such significant features could only be paired with the launch of two new lenses: Leica introduced the Summilux-SL 50 f/1.4 ASPH. and APO-Macro-Elmarit-SL 1:2.8/100.

As the name suggests, the new Summilux-SL 50 f/1.4 ASPH. has a focal length of 50 mm and a maximum aperture of f/1.4 (the minimum aperture is f/16), allowing for images with the "authentic character of Leica images." This model, produced in Germany, combines high image quality with outstanding craftsmanship. Among its features, the minimum focusing distance is 50 cm, but there is more.

The Summilux-SL 50 f/1.4 ASPH. is one of the most compact 50 mm autofocus lenses in the world, allowing for easy portability. The diameter is 74 mm, while the length is 75.5 mm, with a weight of 584 grams. The diaphragm has 11 blades, and the optical design includes 11 elements divided into 6 groups (with two aspherical elements) and the use of optical glasses representing the best in technology.

The autofocus features precision mobile coil actuation, making it both fast and silent while supporting high shooting speeds. You can install 67 mm filters at the front, and it is equipped with an L-Mount bayonet. It also offers protection against dust and water splashes (IP54 certification) and an AquaDura coating. The new Summilux-SL 50 f/1.4 ASPH. is priced at 4575 euros and is available on the manufacturer's website.

The second lens is the APO-Macro-Elmarit-SL 1:2.8/100. This is a tribute to the 1987 model that set a benchmark for this type of lens. As the name suggests, this lens allows for apochromatic correction with high-level performance right to the edges of the image. The minimum focusing distance drops to 29 cm, allowing for varied applications, while its detail rendition makes it useful for portrait photography as well as macro photography, with a reproduction ratio of 1:1.

The diaphragm has a 9-blade structure with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 and a minimum aperture of f/22. It consists of 17 lenses divided into 12 groups, ensuring a background described as "harmonious." It is not a compact lens but features a robust body made entirely of aluminum with IP54 certification. The length is 137.6 mm, while the weight reaches 801 grams (862 grams with the lens hood).

Again, it includes an AquaDura coating to protect the front lens, and it's possible to use 67 mm filters. The lens is also compatible with Leica Extender 1.4x and 2x. The new APO-Macro-Elmarit-SL 1:2.8/100 is priced at 2490 euros and is available for purchase on the website of the German manufacturer.
