The physical copy of Marvel's Wolverine will include the disc: Insomniac Games confirms
Insomniac Games has clarified one of the aspects that has been most debated by the PlayStation community. The studio has indeed confirmed that the physical edition of Marvel's Wolverine, scheduled for September 15 on PS5, will regularly include the game disc inside the packaging.
The clarification comes after numerous controversies arose following the decision of Grand Theft Auto 6 to distribute the physical version with a simple digital code instead of with an optical medium. Many fans have expressed concerns about the long-term preservation of video games, highlighting how a disc-less title may become inaccessible if the servers intended for downloads are ever shut down.
Despite the debate, analyst Mat Piscatella of Circana believes that this choice will not significantly impact the sales of GTA 6. According to him, the growing number of consoles without optical drives and the reduction of the used market are factors that could make a distribution based solely on code viable.
