The First iPhone with a Foldable Display is Near: Launch Period Confirmed, No Delays Expected
The new iPhone Ultra, the first foldable smartphone in Apple’s range, has been at the center of rumors and speculation for some time now. The latest updates on the project clarify the timing of its market arrival, debunking rumors from last week. This is good news for enthusiasts who have long awaited the launch of the company's first foldable device.
Launch Scheduled for September
The latest information on the new iPhone Ultra (also known as iPhone Fold) confirms the launch timing of Apple's first foldable device. Its debut is expected next September, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. The Cupertino company has reportedly overcome the last hurdles (particularly the 3D-printed hinge) that were hindering the start of production.
Mass production of the smartphone should commence in the upcoming month of July, aiming to initiate the launch in September, following the traditional keynote. Apple is expected to produce around 3 million units of its Fold for the first production series, as confirmed by the panel order the company has placed with Samsung.
An official confirmation will be necessary in the coming months. Apple’s first foldable, as revealed by a study, may experience a sharp decline in its value within a year, while its launch price will be very high. The initial estimates project a starting price of around 2,500 euros for the first foldable from Cupertino, which will cost as much as a 2 TB iPhone 17 Pro Max.
