Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: Rising Prices Due to Memory Crisis

The memory crisis is taking its toll, and Samsung is also expected to raise prices. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 (coming in two variants, Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra) will cost more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, at least according to a new report outlining the choices of the Korean company, which is also working on the new S27 Ultra that could introduce several innovations compared to the previous generation.

An Increasingly Expensive Foldable

Samsung will produce two foldable smartphones. The first is the Galaxy Z Fold 8, with a "wide" panel, and the second is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. From the initial information that has emerged, a price increase for the entire range seems confirmed. Essentially, both variants of Fold 8 will cost more than the Fold 7.

Additionally, Samsung might only make memory options of 512 GB and 1 TB, leaving out the 256 GB version. For now, however, there is still no precise information regarding the final prices.

Let’s remember that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was launched in Italy with a retail price of 2,199 euros for the 256 GB version and 2,319 euros for the 512 GB version. The new Fold 8 could hit the market with a higher price tag.

There could also be an increase in prices for the Galaxy Flip series, which follows the trend primarily linked to the rising cost of components and memories.
