Xiaomi Will Follow Apple's Example: Launch Timing for Upcoming Flagships May Change

Xiaomi

Xiaomi is working on the new generation of flagship phones: the Xiaomi 18 series will debut in the market in September 2026, taking over from the 17 series presented last year.

A new leak confirms the strategy that the Chinese company will follow with its upcoming flagships. In fact, Xiaomi may launch the Pro models first and then the base model, following Apple's example with the iPhone 18 and Pro models. Here are all the details about the company's plans.

Xiaomi's Plans

The latest information regarding Xiaomi's plans confirms the fragmented launch of the Xiaomi 18 series. In September, there will be a presentation of the Pro and Pro Max models, which will be followed by the Xiaomi 18. Subsequently, the company may launch additional models, such as the Ultra cameraphone and a possible new generation of the Max version, launched in previous months for the 17 series.

For all models, regardless of the launch date, there should be a price increase, closely tied to the memory crisis that is significantly raising component costs. The aforementioned concerns the Chinese market.

As done in the past, the Xiaomi 18 series will arrive in Europe only at a later stage, between the end of this year and the beginning of the next. In our market, it is almost certain that the Pro models will not arrive, with the company possibly launching only the base model and the Ultra variant.
