Kioxia Exceria G3: the 4 TB model is the ideal combination of capacity, performance, and price
Kioxia has expanded the Exceria G3 SSD family with the introduction of a new 4TB model, aimed at the consumer market and designed for gamers, content creators, and professionals in general. The newcomer expands the family of drives that combine capacity and performance with an even more accessible price compared to the excellent Exceria Plus G4 that we reviewed.
The new Kioxia Exceria G3 4TB is among the first PCIe 5.0 SSDs to use eighth-generation 3D BiCS FLASH technology-based QLC NAND memory developed by the company. The adoption of QLC technology allows for increased storage density and reduced cost per terabyte, while still maintaining adequate performance for modern workloads.
The drive offers sequential read speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 9,600 MB/s. These specifications help reduce game load times, increase system responsiveness, and manage large files more efficiently.
The availability of 4TB of capacity meets the demands of a market where application sizes, game libraries, and creative content continue to grow. For gamers, this clearly means storing more titles without the need for constant uninstallations, which significantly reduces drive wear and tear. For professionals, the Exceria G3 provides the bandwidth necessary for high-resolution video editing or particularly demanding multitasking activities.
Last but not least, power consumption. The Exceria G3 is designed to offer the right balance between performance, capacity, and efficiency. For this reason, it represents an ideal solution even for laptops, ensuring maximum potential without impacting battery life.
Shipments of the new Kioxia Exceria G3 4TB to distributors and retailers are expected to start this month, but the company has not yet shared the price for Europe.
