iPhone Ultra: Delayed and Extremely Expensive? The Latest on Apple's First Foldable

iPhone Ultra

The first foldable smartphone from the Cupertino company might not arrive in 2026. According to a new report, the launch has been postponed to early 2027. Furthermore, the latest rumors about the price suggest that the model will cost significantly more than the current iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.

Will iPhone Ultra Be Delayed?

The rumors regarding a possible delay of the iPhone Ultra, compared to the timelines suggested by previous leaks, are based on information from Apple partners. Sources from the supply chain of the project reportedly stated that the smartphone will only arrive at the beginning of 2027.

This decision may be linked to a series of issues that emerged during assembly or possibly due to supply chain concerns, with 2nm chips and memory not being sufficient to meet Apple's demands, which also plans to launch the new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.

A Premium Price Tag

According to the latest rumors, the new iPhone Ultra is expected to cost around $2,000 for the base variant (let's say 256 GB), while there will also be another variant priced at $2,200 (likely 512 GB). Let's remember that the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2 TB is marketed at a price of $1,999, which, in Italy, becomes €2,489.

This could potentially be the starting price in Italy for the iPhone Ultra. The next presentation event for Apple is scheduled for September, which is why the upcoming summer weeks may bring clarity on the actual release date of the iPhone Ultra.
