Deezer has released a free tool to verify if a song was generated by AI
The streaming platforms dedicated to the music sector are experiencing a significant increase in the number of songs generated by artificial intelligence. For users who want to verify if a song contains AI-generated elements, there is now a new tool made available by Deezer, one of the most well-known players in the streaming music industry.
The company highlighted that 43% of users who sign up for Deezer coming from other streaming platforms already have AI-generated music in their playlists. It should be noted that, to combat the phenomenon of AI-created music (which is not labeled as such), Sony is also developing a specific technology.
The new tool is available based on this data and in relation to the results of a survey (conducted with Ipsos) in which 80% of people agree on the need to clearly label AI-generated content. Deezer has made available the new AI music detector, accessible for free to all users and capable of analyzing playlists from other streaming services, from Spotify to YouTube Music.
Alexis Lanternier, CEO of Deezer, commented: "The vast majority of people want to know if they are being recommended music generated by AI, and our data shows that nearly half of users who sign up for Deezer from another platform have AI-generated songs in their playlists."
Deezer was the first company in the industry to detect and tag AI-generated music on its platform. With the release of the new tool, Deezer's commitment to greater transparency in the music industry continues. Regarding the release of the new tool, the CEO continues: "We expect our AI-generated music detector to be a revealing experience for listeners around the world."
