Specialized Turbo Levo 4 X: Full Suspension e-MTB with Integrated Racks for Electric Overland

Specialized launches the S-Works Turbo Levo 4 X, a full suspension e-MTB designed to combine the trail performance of the Levo 4 model with the carry capacity typical of bikepacking bikes. The California brand coins a new category for this bike: Electric Overland.

Platform and Powertrain

The Levo 4 X shares its technical base with the Turbo Levo 4 S-Works: FACT 11m carbon frame with adjustable geometry and an integrated SWAT compartment in the downtube. The motor is the S-Works 3.1 mid-drive, already known from the Levo 4, with peak power up to 850 W and maximum torque of 111 Nm. The 840 Wh battery ensures a claimed range of up to 4 hours and 24 minutes, variable depending on terrain and selected assist level.

Suspension and Components

The suspension travel is 160 mm in the front via a FOX 38 Factory fork and 150 mm at the rear with a FOX Float X Factory shock featuring GENIE technology, the dual chamber developed by Specialized in collaboration with Fox. The drivetrain is managed by the SRAM XX Eagle T-Type AXS wireless group, with braking systems being SRAM Maven Ultimate four-piston brakes with 220 mm front and 200 mm rear discs, and the wheels are made of Roval Traverse carbon.

Rack System

The distinguishing feature of the 4 X is the patent-pending suspended front and rear rack system. The total load capacity is 22 kg: 10 kg on the front rack and 12 kg on the rear rack, the latter compatible with the 3-pin MIK quick-release system. Racks are also available as aftermarket upgrades for most Levo 4 and Levo R models, with two exceptions: the Levo 4 EVO (incompatible due to greater travel) and the Levo R in size S6 (incompatible with the front rack).

Onboard Technology

The bike features the 2.2-inch MasterMind TCU display with full management via app, Apple Find My compatibility, and a 12 A smart charger with quick-charge mode and an option to preserve at 80%.

The overall weight is around 27.25 kg. In Italy, the S-Works Turbo Levo 4 X is available for the price of €14,499; the racks can be purchased separately: the Levo X Front Rack for €199, and the rear rack for €399.
