Crimson Desert keeps going: Pearl Abyss's game has surpassed a new significant milestone

Crimson Desert is one of the most successful games of the year. This is not a surprise, as the commercial results obtained by the title from Pearl Abyss have been known for weeks.

However, the South Korean developer has updated the data on the copies sold of its title, which has just surpassed a very important milestone.

For more details on the title, we refer you to the review by Hardware Upgrade.

6 million players worldwide

Crimson Desert has reached 6 million copies sold, in less than three months since its launch (which occurred in the second half of March). This is a significant success for the title, which was welcomed with these words from Jin-young Heo, CEO of Pearl Abyss:

"We are sincerely grateful to players around the world for contributing to the significant success of Crimson Desert in the global market, despite it being a new IP. To provide increasingly enjoyable and high-quality experiences, Pearl Abyss will continue to progress and face new challenges."

Let’s remember that the title surpassed 5 million copies in its first month of availability on the market. Consequently, between the second and third month, it already sold over 1 million copies across all platforms, even without any particular promotions.

As confirmed by Pearl Abyss, this is an "unprecedented" result for a single-player game developed in South Korea. According to market analysis firm Circana, the game also ranks second in the list of the best-selling video games in the United States in 2026.

Looking to the future, Crimson Desert aims to continue growing. Several updates are on the way, with new combat elements and also the possibility of utilizing cross-save between various gaming platforms. The target of 7 million copies is not far off and could be reached in the coming months.
