Framework Delays Everything: Laptop 13 Pro Won't Arrive in June, New Touchpads and Displays in the Spotlight

Framework has decided to postpone the debut of the new Laptop 13 Pro after identifying some technical issues during the final stages preceding mass production. As reported by Engadget, the company has informed customers who pre-ordered that the first shipments will no longer start at the end of June as initially planned, but will be initiated between late July and August, depending on the chosen configuration.

The delay is due to two critical issues that emerged during the final checks. The first concerns the new haptic touchpad, where a design defect in the PCB caused unwanted grounding. Framework has therefore chosen to intervene with a revision of the component before starting large-scale production.

The second problem revolves around the custom display introduced with the latest notebook update. In this case, the panel requires a firmware update before it can regularly enter the production phase. The company preferred to temporarily halt the launch program to correct both anomalies rather than distribute units that might require immediate interventions after purchase.

According to Framework, not all configurations will suffer the same impact. Models that do not include the new haptic touchpad or the new screen should indeed adhere to the original schedule. The same applies to replacement and repair modules, as well as the new motherboards based on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, which currently maintain the previously announced timelines.

Meanwhile, the company has introduced greater flexibility for pre-orders regarding memory. The availability of LPCAMM2 modules continues to be a problem in the market, and Framework has decided to allow customers to modify the already ordered configurations to adapt to the current supply difficulties.

For those who do not wish to wait for the new delivery dates, the option to cancel the pre-order with a full refund remains available. This choice aims to maintain a transparent relationship with users and follows the message conveyed by the company: to complete all necessary corrections before shipments to ensure a product that is robust, reliable, and compliant with the expected quality standards.

Framework expects to recover the accumulated delay by September and, at this time, does not report any further elements that could cause additional delays in the launch program of the Laptop 13 Pro.
