Galaxy Z Flip 8 to Feature Samsung's 2-Nanometer Chip in Europe

Samsung plans to launch the new Galaxy Z devices, expected by the end of July. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is also on its way. A new report anticipates the company's choice regarding the chip that will underpin the foldable device.

This is an important aspect for the project, which, after the not particularly convincing results of the previous generation, will need to demonstrate that it can ensure sufficient sales volumes, in a market context made even more difficult by the memory crisis.

In Europe with the Exynos 2600

From the initial information, Samsung is expected to adopt a dual-chip strategy for its foldable with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the Exynos 2600, as already happened with the S26 and S26+. For the foldable, only the version with Exynos 2600 should be available in Europe. This solution will allow Samsung to reduce costs without too many compromises on performance.

The Exynos chip has proven to be up to par, as confirmed by the performance of the Galaxy S26 destined for the European market. The gap with Qualcomm's chip remains, although it is not as pronounced as in previous generations, thanks to the new 2nm manufacturing process.

This choice will not affect the Fold models. For the Fold line, Samsung will continue to focus exclusively on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Let’s remember that the new Galaxy Z devices will be the stars of the upcoming Unpacked event, which is expected to be scheduled for the second half of July 2026.
