Intel Does Not Intend to Abandon the PC Graphics Card Market
Despite not having revealed a clear roadmap and with the Arc range being limited, Intel does not intend to abandon the desktop PC graphics card market, at least for the moment. Gaming represents an important segment for the company, which will continue to work to strengthen its market presence. This issue was addressed by Alex Katouzian, general manager of Intel's Client Computing division.
An "Extremely Important" Part
According to Intel's manager, graphics cards represent an "extremely important" part of Intel's PC product range and "if you look at the gaming sector, both on mobile devices and PCs, enormous revenue is generated. We want to ensure that we play an important role in this area." Intel has reportedly recorded strong interest in its GPUs and is working with various developers to improve support.
Foundations for a Future in the Desktop Graphics Card Segment
There are foundations for a future in the desktop graphics card segment, although several aspects remain to be clarified, and, above all, it is not clear what the company's plans are regarding new products coming to the market. For some time, there has been talk of a "Big Battlemage," which is a graphics card capable of occupying a higher market position compared to other products in the Arc B series. At Computex, aside from the mentioned statements, Intel did not showcase anything, and for now, that GPU (known as BMG-G31) is found in the latest offerings Arc Pro B70 and Arc Pro B65.
More details on the future of the Intel Arc lineup could arrive in the coming months, with the possible debut of new products in the second half of the year or the beginning of next year.
