Will iOS 27 Say Goodbye to These iPhones? A Complete First List Has Leaked

Apple is preparing to unveil iOS 27 at the next WWDC 2026, but the first leaked details regarding compatibility might not please everyone. According to Instant Digital, a well-known leaker on Weibo, the upcoming operating system from Cupertino will discontinue support for several historical models.

If the rumor turns out to be true, iOS 27 will no longer support:

iPhone 11
iPhone 11 Pro
iPhone 11 Pro Max
iPhone SE (2nd generation)

These devices, while excluded from the major release, will still continue to receive security updates for iOS 26 for at least a couple of years. Compatibility will thus shift towards the iPhone 12 series and later models, including, of course, future iPhone 17 and the third-generation iPhone SE.

But the real news, which highlights internal fragmentation, concerns the new Siri app. Renewed and enhanced by Apple Intelligence, this customized version of the voice assistant will be an exclusive for iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. A clear signal that the most advanced AI features will require more powerful hardware, thanks to dedicated NPU specifications or greater computing resources.

iOS 27 is being compared to Mac OS X Snow Leopard for its marked focus on bug fixes and stability improvements. However, new features will not be lacking, including the dedicated Siri app with “ChatGPT-like” chatbot functionalities and enhancements of Apple Intelligence spread across system apps.

The debut of iOS 27 is expected on June 8, during the WWDC 2026 keynote. The first developer beta should arrive on the same day, followed by the public beta in July and the final release in September.
