Surface Pro, new variant coming: it will have the Snapdragon X2 Elite

Microsoft has recently updated the Surface range with new models featuring Intel Core Ultra 300 chips (for business customers) and has also announced the new Ultra variant with NVIDIA RTX Spark chip, expected in autumn.

However, there are also new variants on the way with Snapdragon X2, particularly a Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2 Elite, a model aimed specifically at the consumer user segment. Here are the first details on the new project that will enrich Microsoft's lineup.

A new Surface on the way

New rumors confirm what Microsoft's next plans for its Surface range will be. A 13-inch Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2 Elite and an OLED panel is indeed coming. Among the specifications, it will feature two USB 4.0 ports and various combinations of RAM and storage (up to a maximum of 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of SSD). The operating system will be Windows 11 for computers with Arm chips.

This will, therefore, be a refresh of the previous generation with Snapdragon X Elite, launched last year also in a 12-inch version, which could be updated in turn. There should also be other variants with different chips from Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 series coming. Accessories such as the keyboard cover and the pen will not be missing.

For now, there is no information on price and launch date, but the debut should be very close. We will know more in the coming weeks.
