G.Skill Showcases AMD EXPO ULL at Computex: Certified Stability and Compatibility with AMD

Among the numerous innovations brought to the Taipei show this year by G.Skill, one of the most interesting is undoubtedly the brand new Trident Z5 NeoX, a range of DDR5 memory specifically designed to leverage the new AMD EXPO ULL (Ultra Low Latency) technology.

We have extensively discussed this evolution of EXPO during its presentation: a technology aimed at maximizing performance through extreme latency reduction. Compared to the traditional EXPO configurations already present in compatible DDR5 memory, the new implementation introduces additional settings dedicated to memory sub-timings. The goal is to improve response times while maintaining the same operating frequency and CL values, with benefits particularly evident on AMD desktop processors not belonging to the X3D family.

According to information provided by the companies, users will be able to access these advantages simply by activating the EXPO profile on compatible motherboards equipped with an updated BIOS version. AMD emphasizes that this new technology was developed to offer a simple pathway to higher performance while maintaining certified reliability and compatibility.

"With AMD EXPO Ultra Low Latency technology, we continue to push memory performance to the limit for gamers and PC enthusiasts," said David McAfee, Vice President and General Manager of Client Channel and Graphic Business at AMD. "Thanks to our close collaboration with G.Skill, we provide high-performance memory overclocking profiles optimized for AMD platforms, offering users a straightforward path to superior performance with certified compatibility and reliability."

The Trident Z5 NeoX series represents the evolution of the current Trident Z5 Neo range. The two families will continue to coexist in the market, while the new NeoX models will introduce support for optimizations related to AMD EXPO ULL. G.Skill will make the new modules available in three different aesthetic options: glossy black, matte black, and matte white.

During Computex 2026, the company showcased four configurations of 32 GB (2x16 GB). The specifications include versions of DDR5-6000 CL36, DDR5-6000 CL30, DDR5-6000 CL28, and the most advanced DDR5-6000 CL26, a combination highlighting the focus on particularly low latencies.

G.Skill emphasized that it subjected all kits to a series of internal tests on different platforms and motherboards to verify their stability, reliability, and compatibility. In short, the results of this collaboration seem quite promising, although the real benefits will need to be verified in the field. Undoubtedly, in the coming months, we will have the opportunity to try AMD's new technology and assess it with concrete data.
