Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition: AMD Relaunches the Symbol of the AM4 Era

AMD has announced at Computex 2026 the return of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D through a new celebratory version called "10th Anniversary Edition". This initiative marks the ten years of the AM4 platform, one of the longest-lasting in the recent history of the consumer desktop market, having crossed five generations of Ryzen processors while maintaining socket compatibility.

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D holds a special place in AMD's recent history because it was the first desktop processor to introduce 3D V-Cache technology, a solution that significantly boosted gaming performance through vertical integration of L3 cache. The new Anniversary Edition thus revives a model that has become symbolic for the gaming segment, especially among AM4 users who have been able to upgrade their processor without replacing the motherboard and memory.

From a technical standpoint, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition maintains the Zen 3 architecture and integrates a total of 96 MB of cache thanks to AMD's 3D V-Cache technology. According to AMD, this solution continues to offer low latencies and high performance in gaming, while also maintaining full compatibility with existing AMD series 400 and 500 motherboards on the market.

Availability is set to start on June 25, 2026, with an indicative price of $349. AMD emphasizes that this CPU represents an upgrade option for AM4 users who wish to extend the life cycle of their system without incurring the expense of an entirely new platform based on socket AM5. Alongside the processor, AMD will also include a Carbice Ice Pad in the package, a thermal interface designed to ensure consistent performance over time. This accessory aims to improve thermal dissipation compared to traditional thermal pastes.

The announcement of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D Anniversary Edition is part of a broader strategy shown by AMD at Computex 2026. The company has indeed confirmed support for the AM5 platform until 2029, reiterating its intention to maintain a multi-generational approach to hardware compatibility. Additionally, the Ryzen 7 7700X3D and the Radeon RX 9070 GRE were also presented.
