Qualcomm Anticipates the Arrival of New Snapdragon C: They Will Be the Chips for Low-End Windows Laptops
In anticipation of Computex 2026 in Taipei, Qualcomm has announced the arrival of new Snapdragon C chips on the market. These are SoCs that will be used for low-end Windows laptops. The company explicitly references the price range between $300 and $500 and mentions several market giants like Acer, HP, and Lenovo among its OEM partners. With these chips, Qualcomm aims to enhance the potential of Windows laptops, especially considering the significant growth of Macs, linked to the success of the MacBook Neo.
Chips for Low-End Laptops
The Snapdragon C therefore represents the offering for the low-end market, positioned below the recently launched Snapdragon X, which we recently tested on the new ASUS Zenbook A14 (with X2 Elite). Qualcomm emphasizes that the Snapdragon C chips will aim to provide "smooth web browsing, video streaming, and productivity" and will also include an integrated NPU to enable the use of artificial intelligence features.
Qualcomm has not provided any technical details about the new Snapdragon C, merely confirming that the chips "should" arrive by the end of the current year. Consequently, more details will only come in the coming months.
Kedar Kondap, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Compute and Gaming at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., commented: "With rising costs and evolving customer expectations, Snapdragon C combines an affordable computing experience, all-day battery life, AI functionality, and responsive performance in quiet, low-temperature devices, thus expanding the platform choices."
