007 First Light surpasses 1.5 million copies sold in just 24 hours
007 First Light
officially debuted on May 27 and immediately proved to be a great commercial success. The studio has confirmed through a post published on X that the game has surpassed 1.5 million copies sold within the first 24 hours of launch.
This achievement is even more significant considering that the title has not been without technical controversies. Part of the community has indeed criticized the lack of support for FSR 4, aspects that have sparked discussions especially among PC players who are more attentive to customization and graphical optimization options.
Despite this, the public responded extremely positively in terms of sales. According to data reported by SteamDB, 007 First Light reached a peak of 68,477 concurrent players on Steam during the first day of availability. A significant number, but one that alone would not have suggested such a high sales volume.

007 First Light is, for now, a success.
The comparison with other recent titles makes the significance of the result achieved by IO Interactive even clearer. Marathon by Bungie, for instance, sold about 1.2 million copies across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox just three weeks after its launch. In contrast, 007 First Light surpassed that threshold in just one day.
The game also positions itself just behind Subnautica 2, one of the most awaited titles of recent times, which recorded 2 million copies sold on its debut day.
For IO Interactive, this is a particularly significant milestone. 007 First Light represents the studio's first major departure from the Hitman series after nearly ten years of work dedicated primarily to the renowned stealth franchise. To learn more, take a look at our review.
