Samsung's Privacy Display Could Soon Arrive on MacBook Pros

Apple is always on the lookout for new solutions to update its MacBook lineup. While awaiting the debut of the first variant with an OLED display, the Cupertino company is already working on another innovation. The aim is to bring the Privacy Display seen on the Galaxy S26 Ultra to the notebooks running macOS. This project is expected to materialize quite quickly. It is worth noting that this feature is soon to be 'copied' by some Chinese manufacturers.

The Privacy Display for MacBooks?

Several sources agree on the arrival of notebooks with a Privacy Display (or at least with technologies similar to those proposed by Samsung). Some sources confirm arrival by 2029, while others significantly shorten the timeline, suggesting that the new MacBook Pro with M6 Pro/Max could integrate a Privacy Display alongside the launch of the OLED panel (to be supplied by Samsung Display). In this second scenario, the debut is expected between late 2026 and early 2027.

Also on Windows Notebooks?

The Privacy Display (for now we are using the name adopted by Samsung, but it is likely that Apple will choose to name this feature differently) should also arrive relatively quickly on Windows notebooks, particularly on high-end models. Several OEMs are reportedly interested in following the path opened by Samsung with its high-end Galaxy S26 Ultra in recent months. The system still has significant room for improvement, and the next evolutions of the technology should address the early defects highlighted by the feature integrated into Samsung's smartphone.
