Oura unveils the new Ring 5: it's 40% smaller than the previous generation

Oura raises the bar with the new Ring 5. The new generation of the company's smart ring introduces several innovations and, most importantly, significantly reduces the size, following feedback from users who purchased previous generations of the model.

A new generation

The new Oura Ring 5 is 40% smaller than the previous model, thanks to meticulous engineering work that has allowed for a design of this type, achieving the target size reduction without compromising functionality.

The company has also modified the available sizes, eliminating the smallest and largest ones (for which market demand is very low). The Ring 4 is available in sizes 4 to 15, while the Ring 5 has sizes from 6 to 13. Additionally, the company offers more finishes for the ring, aiming to provide users with more options.

In addition to the base versions in Silver and Black, there will also be versions in Stealth, Brushed Silver, a new more natural Gold, and Deep Rose (Rose Gold). The company also promises greater scratch resistance.

The battery life will not be affected by the reduced size: with a single charge, it will be possible to achieve up to a week of use, regardless of size.

As for the features, several new additions have been introduced, such as Health Radar, to monitor key health indicators with proactive tracking from Symptom Radar. Blood pressure and nighttime breathing will be given significant weight in health assessments.

Also noteworthy is a partnership with Counsel Health, which will allow users to interact with an AI for medical advice and, if necessary, start a chat with a professional doctor (this feature is active in some states in the USA). Workout statistics have been improved, and a new Health Records section has been introduced that combines the user's clinical data with information collected from the device.

The Oura Ring 5 is already available for pre-order through the official Oura store, with a price of 429 euros, six color options to choose from, and shipping beginning on June 4, 2026. It is worth noting that there is also a subscription fee of 5.99 euros per month for access to the entire ecosystem of software features.
