Anthropic Opens Its Office in Italy. It's in Milan
The news has officially arrived: Anthropic has opened an office in Milan today, May 28. This opening is part of the strong international expansion that Anthropic has experienced in recent months and will continue in the future.
Anthropic Arrives in Milan
Founded in the United States in 2021 by brothers Dario and Daniela Amodei, Anthropic already has several offices in various European countries: in addition to its main office in London, it has offices in Dublin, Zurich, as well as in Paris and Munich. After France and Germany, it's Italy's turn, as announced by the company itself.
The choice of Milan seems natural: the Lombardy capital is indeed the main Italian city in terms of banking and financial institutions, large companies, consulting firms, and law firms, as well as home to some of the country's leading universities. The opening of an office in Italy, and specifically in Milan, appears to be a well-considered choice from the commercial perspective and future developments in interaction with the Italian entrepreneurial, academic, and governmental landscape.
This is why the company, which will be led in Italy by the head for Southern Europe Thomas Remy, explicitly mentions Generali, Unipol, Angelini, Bracco, Enel, and Pirelli, along with other entities such as JAKALA and Satispay.
The opening of the office in Italy is part of a global expansion that sees Anthropic engaged in expanding into multiple countries; along with its previously mentioned European locations, the company is also inaugurating offices in South Korea. The stated plans are to triple the presence outside the United States this year.
Chris Ciauri, MD International at Anthropic, commented by saying that "we are here to support large Italian companies, research, and the culture of Italy through a safe transition to AI. Italy is a country that has always embraced deep transformations and we are optimistic about what frontier AI can do for this country, from its largest industrial groups to startup founders, its universities, and its cultural institutions."
