Over 50 Minutes of Gameplay Revealed for the New Metal Gear Solid Collection: An iPod Resurfaces in the Fourth Chapter
Konami has released over 50 minutes of gameplay dedicated to the new collection of the historic stealth saga, Metal Gear Solid, providing an in-depth look at the return of the fourth chapter of the series. The footage, produced by the YouTube channel WasyaganaTV, showcases various early sequences of the game and highlights the improvements made in this new edition.
From the images, a particularly well-crafted technical aspect emerges. The new version manages to combine high-resolution graphics with a constant frame rate of 60 frames per second, delivering a modern experience without distorting the original identity of the title. Characters, settings, and cutscenes maintain the style that made the game famous upon its release.
In the gameplay, we can see the protagonist with his iconic look, along with the use of the OctoCamo technology, one of the game's most iconic elements. Beloved historical characters return, including Otacon and Meryl, rendered with great fidelity to the original version.
The Iconic iPod Returns in Metal Gear Solid 4
One of the aspects that has attracted the most attention is the return of the historic iPod used by the protagonist during the adventure. This detail has also been preserved in the re-release, helping to maintain the atmosphere of the original game.
Among the new features introduced in the collection is a separate menu dedicated to saving and loading options, designed to make the experience more practical on modern platforms. The famous box "No Place for Hideo" has also been retained, although the link to the developer's blog present in the original version has been removed. This choice takes on particular significance considering the subsequent separation between Hideo Kojima and Konami.
The collection will be available from August 27 and will also include the chapter originally released on PlayStation Portable. The historical multiplayer modes of the fourth episode are also confirmed. According to the latest rumors, the chances of seeing some crossovers present in the portable title have increased, including content inspired by Monster Hunter.
