YouTube Will Also Have Its AI Mode for Search

Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important for Google and online search, with features like AI Mode. In the future, the company plans to bring AI-driven search to YouTube as well.

For this reason, the introduction of the Ask YouTube feature is planned, a search mode different from the traditional one, designed to follow a more conversational approach. Regarding results, there will no longer be the usual list of videos and Shorts, but a mix of textual answers, videos, and various suggestions. The AI will select and manage the results.

Searching with AI

As with Google’s AI Mode, Ask YouTube also features a continuity mechanism in searching, allowing users to ask new questions to continue their search and find the desired results.

For now, Ask YouTube will be available in a limited way. The feature, which has been in testing since late April, is accessible only to YouTube Premium users, the subscription service that unlocks various advantages and removes ads from the platform. Access is currently restricted to users in the United States, specifically to those who are at least 18 years old.

However, Google plans to expand the service in the future, aiming to make it more accessible to transform Ask YouTube into the new way of searching for things on YouTube.

In the official statement, Google clarifies that the goal is to extend the AI-powered search feature to all users of the platform, including those without an active subscription. In the future, Ask YouTube is expected to arrive in Italy as well.
