GTA 6 Reviews: Rockstar Could Organize a Private Event and Prevent Early Information Leaks

According to a rumor circulating in recent hours, Rockstar Games is preparing an unusual strategy to manage reviews of Grand Theft Auto VI and minimize the risk of news leaks before the launch.

The speculation was reported by journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe during the podcast X do Controle. Reportedly, review copies or digital codes would not be distributed to media outlets, a practice typically used to allow reviewers to test games in advance.

Instead, Rockstar intends to invite journalists to a company-selected venue. Participants would stay for several days in a controlled environment, where they could try the game without bringing materials that could facilitate the dissemination of unauthorized details.

GTA 6 and the Review Event: Further (Possible) Details

At the moment, there are no official confirmations, and the reliability of the rumor remains uncertain. In the past, other rumors about Grand Theft Auto VI have circulated, such as the claim that physical copies would arrive after the digital version, a hypothesis later denied by Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive.

The idea of organizing press events is not new in the gaming industry, especially for previews and controlled tests. Considering the severe leak that involved the game in 2023 and previous internal security issues, such a measure would be consistent with Rockstar's cautious approach.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. According to other rumors, pre-orders may open on May 18, while Take-Two has already announced that the promotional campaign will begin during the summer.
