ASUS ROG Xreal R1: AR Glasses for Gaming Hit the Market
After the presentation at CES 2026, the new ASUS ROG Xreal R1 AR glasses are ready to debut on the market. These AR glasses are designed primarily for gaming, as is customary for all ASUS ROG products, which has just launched its DDR5 memory. The new glasses are now available for pre-order, currently only in the United States, where they can be purchased for $849.99, with deliveries starting at the end of May.
AR Glasses for Gaming
The ASUS ROG Xreal R1 AR glasses feature two micro-OLED displays, one for each eye, and can simulate a virtual screen of about 171 inches diagonal, with a field of view of 57 degrees and a maximum refresh rate of 240 Hz. They also include stereo speakers developed with Bose, a noise-canceling microphone system, and an electrochromatic lens darkening system. The glasses weigh only 91 grams.
The glasses can be paired with an external source device via a USB-C port. ASUS ROG has also created an external dock to facilitate connections to PCs and other devices.
The ASUS ROG Xreal R1 AR glasses are certainly an interesting new addition that enriches the ASUS ROG gaming product ecosystem, leveraging Xreal's capabilities in creating smart glasses. This product could arrive in Europe in the coming weeks, and if so, the price will likely be over 1,000 euros. Currently, the product does not yet have its own dedicated page on the ASUS ROG website.
